BITCHES BE TRIPPIN'

Ann Sofie-Back safety pin shirt, "Bitches be Trippin'" collar by Dimepiece, Marséll patent leather laceless brogues, Juicy Couture pants, blue suede H&M cropped moto jacket, Givenchy Pandora bag, sterling plated skull ring courtesy of Alberto Juan.

I flipped when I saw these Dimepiece collars. I got a black one with white crosses, and couldn't resist this one either. When my friend Josh first saw me wearing one of these, he laughed his ass off: "Is that a fake collar?! Like a dickie?!" But seriously, these go with everything -- well, maybe everything except dresses, but I rarely wear dresses.

I've had this suede moto jacket for eons. It's one of those pieces out of which I don't get much wear, but I love it so much that I could never part with it. It's the most unusual shade of blue; I guess I'd classify it as periwinkle. I felt it suited this ensemble today, for whatever reason. I think it adds to the intentional goofiness of the "Bitches Be Trippin'" collar. I hate it when people are all like "I NEVER try to be ironic in the way I dress! Fashion is ~serious business~" Come on, guys -- it's clothes. What's the deal with everyone wanting to look "timeless"? Sure, I own some stuff I'd consider timeless, but most of my things have playful elements. Hey, I'm milking my youth as long as I possibly can, and that does not entail wearing skirt suits.

I LOVE Marséll. Love. Interestingly enough, I've had these shoes for over a year now. Just recently have I felt it was the "right" time to start wearing them, nomsane? They are truly stunning -- the distressing on the white patent leather has sort of an indigo hue, and they have just the right amount of extra toe space so they look appropriately dorky, but not like I'm preparing to enroll in clown training. Not that there's anything wrong with being a clown, but if you are a clown, you should go all out. So clowns, these are not the right shoes for you. And even if you felt they were, sorry ... they're from several seasons ago.

Against my will, these shoes are the only Marséll I own. A year ago, I ordered a gorgeous black leather backpack that was stolen by a temporary UPS worker (along with *that* Christopher Kane atomic print dress). It pains me to even type this story, because that backpack and incredible dress would be in my closet RIGHT THIS SECOND had some UPS worker not gotten greedy around the 2009 holiday season. So, thanks, UPS asshole. If you ever feel like returning the items to me or even apologizing, feel free to shoot me an email. I'll hold my breath until you do! :D

Ann Sofie-Back never fails to astound me. I got this relatively simple little number from one of my favorite online stores, Stand Up Comedy. Obviously what sold me on it was the gigantic safety pin on the front, which makes the piece drape on the wearer's body in a really unique way. When I first ordered this, I was worried the safety pin would eventually rip large holes in the fabric (which is ~silkeh~ soft, by the way). Silly me for thinking ASB could produce anything even remotely inferior -- the holes where the safety pin enters are re-inforced, sort of grommet-style, but done in fabric because grommets on a t-shirt are yucky. Point being, this piece is a must-have basic for me, and I fucking love it.

HIKE

Topshop skirt, Rick Owens boots, vintage plaid button-up, vintage Kreator shirt, Karen Walker "Righteous" sunglasses, Juicy Couture trapper hat, Boyy Slash bag.

Leather strap bracelets by Bless, sterling unisex eagle ring courtesy of Alberto Juan, talon ring courtesy of Leviticus. I need a fill-in badly! The Bless bracelets are too cool-- the one with the colored letters is 3-D! From Ooga Booga.

I love these shades by New Zealand designer Karen Walker ... I had seen them on a local girl (weirdly enough) and then again on Rumi, and I thought they looked so neat and unusual. For some reason I always have to take glasses with those nose pads to be adjusted.

The Topshop skirt is actually a maxi that I have hiked up over my ta-tas. I never iron maxi skirts, I just really like the way they look all wrinkled.

Squirrels are abundant around here, and they always eat the pumpkins. Have a good Sunday afternoon. &hearts

MAY BLITZ

Junya Watanabe/Comme des Garcons denim jacket, Obesity & Speed "shreddy" t-shirt dress, Juicy Couture tie dyed leggings, Marni wedge sandals, Ray Ban aviators, H&M scarf, Jas M.B. leather tote.

Driftwood Skull for Opening Ceremony wooden ring, Chanel ivory cocktail ring.

I was too excited to really care what I put on this morning, because today my husband and I found out we'll be having a little boy. We're both overjoyed that we are having a son and were secretly wishing throughout this whole pregnancy that it would be a boy ;) Don Argott from 914 Pictures came along to get some footage for the documentary. The staff at the hospital was so accommodating and very patient with the camera.

The Junya Watanabe jacket is Bobby's, but it fits me okay now that I'm far into pregnancy. I scored this beauty on eBay almost a year ago. I love the patchwork denim feel and the bell sleeves -- so Hendrix.

I admit, I've had a hard time styling these Marni sandals. Don't get me wrong, they're gorgeous. I love the giant stone embellishments, the soft cream-colored leather straps, and the weird concave wedge heel. I think the trick is to pair them with either something completely simple, or something equally quirky. With its exaggerated silhouette and harsh seams, the Comme des Garcons blazer compliments the Marnis appropriately.

This earring is so cool -- it's a porcelain cast of a mongoose jaw with gold painted teeth.

My mom gave me the beautiful turquoise pendant and the matching bracelet for mother's day. The turquoise is the same color as one of the stones on the sandals, which is subtle enough to match without being too matchy-matchy. The back of the pendant is engraved with this really cool psychedelic sun/mushroom/butterfly scene. I totally love it. By Lucky Brand.

Have a beautiful evening &hearts

A WHITER SHADE OF PALE

Natural printed t-shirt courtesy of Obesity & Speed, Gap "1969" denim vest, Ann Demeulemeester s/s '10 covered multi buckle wedges, silk Fendi scarf, Furla pebbled leather bag, Ray Ban aviators, American Apparel biker shorts, Bebe bowler hat, tons of custom sterling silver & white gold accessories.

The weather in Philly has been unbearably humid for the past three days. It's been tempting to not walk around in a bikini top and play in the fire hydrants with the local kids.

I've had this Furla bag for at least five years and it has held up beautifully. With its lovely pebbled leather, thick strap, and striking chrome hardware, it has absolutely earned its keep. I love the round buckles at the bottoms of the straps and its charming pseudo-shapelessness.

I haven't worn my all-time favorite kicks since we got home from the last tour. I definitely missed them! They're by far the most comfortable shoes in my collection, not to mention very multi-seasonal.

These boots are so deliciously black; they must be triple-dyed or something. The only downside of this is that the dye sometimes rubs off on your feet, so don't plan on wearing them on the fifth date, haha! It's a small price to pay for the unexcelled quality of Ann D's leather.

Glasses are prescription Ray-Bans. I've had this vest for quite some time. Unlike most if not all of my others, I left it virtually untouched, save for this original Procol Harum patch I found on eBay several years ago:

My hands/veins looked so gross yesterday from the sweltering heat. Regardless, I piled on a ton of my silver statement pieces to finish off this ensemble. Right arm bracelets: custom snake, custom opal cuff from my mother-in-law, custom "squiggle" cuff from Donald Pywell; rings L to R: Pamela Love cross, XL lapis w/ white gold band (gift from JF), sterling/onyx frog knuckle ring. Left arm: bracelets are Tiffany's, Juicy Couture, family heirlooms from Bobby's side, custom sterling Bobby brought home from Europe, Swiss Army watch, small leather studded cuff; rings L to R: ram skull (gift from Summer Adeline), large custom "armor" ring, my engagement ring & wedding band. I'm ready to get a color change for this nailpolish ...

Water ice is the quintessential Philadelphia summer dessert. Or if you're like me, a daily necessity. Yesterday they were out of my favorite cotton candy flavor, so I settled for pineapple.

I actually really hate this hat, but it seemed fitting with the rest of the outfit. This photo was taken in the reflection of some van window; I thought it came out sort of interesting. The sterling silver cross earring was a gift from Jinx Dawson of Coven. Once again, I would like to note that I, my husband, and his colleagues and/or friends do not endorse any anti-Christian ideals whatsoever. Here is Jinx with her bandmates on the album cover of Coven's 1969 LP, Witchcraft Destroys Minds and Reaps Souls:

Very beautiful woman! She reminds me a little of Electric Wizard's guitarist, Liz Buckingham. Coven's album covers were shockingly blasphemous for their time. I have a lot of other interesting images of Ms. Dawson & Coven in my '69-'72 photo collection.

The Fendi scarf was a 23rd birthday gift from my mom. I utilize it in many ways: hair, purse, neck, wrist ... it's a great length and one of my favorites in my [unmanageably] vast collection.

Procol Harum's 1967 classic, "A Whiter Shade of Pale" from their s/t release of the same year. Along with Family and Gentle Giant, Procol Harum are one of my longtime favorite progressive bands of this era.

Additionally, I've received several emails about link exchanges. I am always open to link exchanges for my blogroll; if you are interested in swapping links with me, please comment or shoot me an email at halcoholic@gmail.com.

I'd like to thank my husband for his ceaseless dedication in helping me maintain this site. Despite his extraordinarily busy schedule, he always makes time to patiently snap photos for me and ensure they turn out in a presentable manner. Considering he's never used a DSLR before in his life, he's been doing a wonderful job and it means the world to me.

Hope everyone is having at least a tolerable Monday; try to stay cool (in all senses of the word)! &hearts

DOWN IN MONTERAY

Hello again from beautiful Marina, California .. we've stopped at a hotel near the beach for the evening before we make the 100 mile drive to SF for tomorrow's show. That's the halfway marking point for the tour. I'm especially stoked on our bus this time around, which is a huge upgrade (thanks to Music City Coach) from last time.

Now that we have the rest of the day off, it's a good time to share these pictures.

At some beautiful canyon in Utah. We stopped here en route to Vegas, on one of our days off. We were in awe of how gorgeous and massive it was.

Vintage Aerosmith t-shirt, American Apparel leggings, custom Chuck Taylor high tops, Topshop socks, custom sterling silver crow skull necklace, Ray Ban aviators, Margiela bag, Rick Owens cardigan.

Outside of the Monte Carlo in Vegas. We got to stop there on one of our days off before the LA show. Wearing a black acid wash tank top, Juicy Couture leggings, Ann Demeulemeester booties, Balenciaga sunglasses, and Jas M.B. leather shopper. Bobby sat on these sunglasses 2 days later, LOL. I need to order a new pair when we get home.

Bobby and I don't gamble (aside from the nickle slots), so we walked the strip and headed to the forum shops at Caesar's. I was so excited to visit the Chrome Hearts store for the first time. A really nice guy named Dean Martin helped us out. They had gorgeous leather goods in there. I picked up a sterling silver skull with wings pendant on a braided leather rope and a really sweet black tank top. Afterwards, we stopped by the Y-3 store where I picked up a much-needed new hoodie. We also got some fun little accessories at the Marc Jacobs store. It was such a fun day.

Bobby wears a Pentagram long-sleeved shirt, Lip Service jeans, his own boots, Prada sunglasses.

Taken in the back lounge of the bus the night of the LA show. The gold chains around my neck are actually a body chain that was made for me by our extremely talented friend Summer. She also gave Bobby an incredible sterling silver ram's head ring the night of that show.

Missoni jersey kimono dress, Jas M.B. leather tote, Ann Demeulemeeser booties. I can't even tell you what a lifesaver these shoes have been this tour. They're probably the best shoe purchase I've ever made. So functional and versatile. I brought a pair of Rick Owens boots also, but keep grabbing these because they're SO comfortable and hold up so beautifully, as all Ann D's tend to do.

Since this post is so image-heavy, I'm saving the live photos of the guys for the next post.

By the way, I'm sorry to readers about my image links being broken for a few days; I upgraded to a premium account so it won't happen again.

We're about to enjoy some pizza and do some laundry; tomorrow it's back to work for Bobby in San Francisco. Apparently the pre-sales are really high, so if you see me, say hello! I'm the pregnant girl watching the show from sidestage or behind the stacks. xox
