This was RJ's first Christmas. Santa was good to him: a Vermont Teddy Bear, a Baby Einstein chair, an Eagles sweatsuit, and much more. I am a lucky woman to have spent Xmas (and every other day) with my boys. Wishing all of you the happiest of holidays and an even more joyous future. &hearts
On a less important note, this blog is now over a year old. Thank you to all of my readers for supporting (and hopefully enjoying) Halcoholic. Much love to all of you.
I love fashion, but I do not consider it a significant part of who I am. I would say what makes me who I am is the unconditional, fierce love I feel for those who are most important to me. I have always been a homebody. I am home when I am with the people I adore the most in this world. The things surrounding me in this dwelling -- the little belongings I see and experience on a daily basis -- are a reminder of the life I have now and what I've gone through to get here: a pair of shoes I was wearing when my husband and I realized we were going to be parents, an old Norwegian knick-knack my mother gave me when I moved into my first apartment, a plush animal I slept with as a child that now sits in my son's crib. I never pictured my life this way ten or even two years ago. I am not sure what I did to deserve the special people with whom I get to share my days, but I try not to ask questions. Life is too short to not cherish and enjoy what matters most to you, whatever that may be.
Watch by La Mer. Shoes L to R: Versace and YSL from Net-a-Porter, Viktor and Rolf from La Garconne.
I'm into the purple/blue suede trend for this season. Though, I wouldn't turn my nose up at those black leather Viktor and Rolf boots.
Little Bobby
This weekend we are taking the baby to visit his Liebling grandparents. I have some pieces to share with you guys within the next few days, and a very cool giveaway courtesy of Sparkover. Check out the designs in the meantime, which are all made utilizing repurposed circuit board parts:
The artist was generous enough to send me 3 extremely awesome pieces that will be featured in my next post.
I also filmed a makeup tutorial due to lots of reader requests, but it turned out very hectic and disorganized (lol), so I might be filming another one. Maybe I'll just share the nutsy one anyway.
I'll be sure to snap some photos of our mini-trip this weekend and show you all how I deal with traveling/packing up with the little one. Hope the weekend treats you well! &hearts
Margiela sweater, vintage Thrasher t-shirt, vintage distressed leggings, Chloe Sevigny x Opening Ceremony buckle wedges, Jil Sander sunglasses, Jas M.B. leather tote. Accessories: sterling silver eagle ring courtesy of Alberto Juan, Chanel cocktail ring, custom Donald Pywell sterling cuff, sterling crow skull pendant by Blue Bayer, Forever 21 cross ring.
Not too much going on with this look, which is what I like about it. Limited time and that post-pregnancy in-between-sizes figure is pretty constricting to my wardrobe, but I have to say it's been a nice reprieve. I've had this Thrasher shirt for years and it's basically threadbare. It was cool enough this morning to wear the Margiela sweater over it, but by mid-afternoon the sun was beating. It's September ... will the East Coast heat end already?
I really am not too into posting pictures of my kid online .. something about it doesn't sit right with me and it's not relevant to this blog. However, I love this shot of him with his daddy:
I can't believe Bobby and I turned out such a blonde baby! For two very small people, he's also a big boy. We adore him. More soon! xo
The reason I have been so exceedingly absent is because on August 26th, my husband and I were blessed with this beautiful little boy, Robert Joseph Liebling. We have been on cloud nine and are so very much in love with our son. I sincerely apologize for my negligence and I promise everyone's emails, private messages, etc. will be returned as soon as possible. Designers who have sent me things to style on here, I will start shooting again very soon. I thank everyone so very much again for the abundance of support and understanding we have received in this joyous time. The amount of precious cards, packages, emails, meals (!!), and various other congratulations has been overwhelming and truly means the world to us all. This site is still very much a priority of mine and I will resume regular posting very soon. Thank you so much again for the kindness and well-wishes. Much love &hearts
